What's New and Upcoming for
CLIA?
This presentation will provide current CLIA stats, including the top ten
deficiencies cited during CMS CLIA surveys, along with some compliance
tips. It will offer an overview of CMS’ implementation plans for
CLSI’s EP-23 document, called Individualized QC Plans (IQCP). It
also offers a review of policies for personnel qualifications and
competency assessment and updates on the status of the Patient Access
and Proficiency Testing regulations. The program will explain a new
CDC/CMS developed CLIA program performance measure called “Ready,
Set, Test!” for waived laboratories.
Implementation of EP23: A Practical Guide for
Laboratory Quality Control Based on Risk Management
Now that the CLSI document EP23-A—A Practical Guide for
Laboratory Quality Control Based on Risk Management; Approved
Guideline is available, how does a laboratory go about creating a
quality control plan (QCP)? This webinar will walk through the new
implementation guideline that follows all the steps involved to reach
the end goal of creating a new QCP based on risk. An example is
used so that participants can relate to the steps involved which include
but are not limited to looking at your QC toolbox, obtaining information
about risk assessment, using the process map and the fishbone diagrams,
performing the risk and assembling a QCP.
CLSI Document EP23: Laboratory Quality Control
Based on Risk Management
This webinar will define risk management and review the new CLSI
document EP23 which describes good laboratory practice for developing a
QCP based on manufacturer’s risk mitigation information,
applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the individual
health care and laboratory setting.
Pre-Analytics Count!
The pre-analytic stage has long been known to be one of the major
contributors to total diagnostic error. This webinar will focus on
standards requirements across care settings associated with sample
collection and handling. The faculty will also describe a comprehensive
program for training and maintaining personnel competency in this
challenging area, including strategies for off-site sample
management.
Continuing Education Credit: Each webinar
participant will receive one hour of Continuing Education Credit. CLSI
is an approved provider of continuing education programs in the clinical
laboratory sciences by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory
Science (ASCLS) P.A.C.E.® Program.
